About the game
Dixit Odyssey brings the beloved storytelling game to bigger groups, letting up to twelve players describe evocative illustrated cards with a word or phrase while everyone else tries to match or guess correctly. Each round, the storyteller shares a clue, other players submit cards that might fit, and the group votes on which card belongs to the storyteller. Scoring rewards clues that are neither too obvious nor too obscure. With gorgeous, dreamlike artwork, it's a game about imagination as much as deduction.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team sees Dixit Odyssey as the perfect large-group version of a modern classic. The bigger card count and player capacity make it ideal for bigger family gatherings or parties. It rewards creative, evocative clue-giving over literal description, which keeps everyone engaged. The gentle voting mechanic never singles anyone out too harshly.
What we like
- Supports very large groups better than most party games.
- Beautiful, whimsical artwork sparks imagination.
- Easy rules make it accessible to all ages.
- Voting mechanism keeps everyone involved every round.
Keep in mind
- Best score potential relies on knowing your group's associations.
- Less strategic depth for gamers seeking competitive tension.
- Storytelling can feel repetitive over many long sessions.
Who it's for
